Prior to founding Arcticon Capital in 2010 and becoming a shareholder of Hollister Associates in 2018, Jacques was head of alternative investments research and portfolio management for Banque Safdie/Safdie Investment Services Inc. in New York, and a member of the investment committee. As acting portfolio manager for the flagship fund of funds, he was charged with conducting due diligence, risk management, and capital allocation recommendations for their $320M in alternative investments. Before joining Banque Safdie in 2005, Jacques was vice president of research and portfolio management for Franco Asset Management in Miami, a fund of funds, where he focused on analysis, relationship management, and capital allocation for various funds. Before relocating to the US in 1999, Jacques was a business manager for 3M in Venezuela.
Raised in Venezuela, Jacques benefits from a truly international perspective is bilingual Spanish - English and conversant in French and Italian. Jacques holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, and an MBA from Columbia University, as well as Series 7 and Series 63 FINRA registrations.
